Who would have thought that a photo of FCKal from 2000 would be on the cover of Charles Peterson's new book 8 years later? I haven't seen the content of the book yet, but im hoping for more of Mr. Kalani-Jon


That kind of money can sure get you a sweet house... I recently got a tour of this spot and let me tell you, I'm into it...

Sunday, August 17th, the War Room hosted its first Call of Duty 4 Clan Wars tournament. Now, i dont play COD, but i couldnt help but swing by to check out just what something like that would look like.


Its basically the future. Or maybe just a modern version of the movie "The Wizard".


It was a dramatic change of pace from the War Room's normal operation. Pretty crazy seeing kids in the club who still have like 8+ years to go before they can be in there drinking. And the best part was seeing those same kids SMOKING the competition, some of which were twice their age!



We helped make some quick giveaway shirts for the event which featured a black on black P-90 wrap around print to get people in the sniper mood.

We stopped by this year's Flugtag in Portland on our way to jump out of airplanes (more on that later).

I guess we werent the only ones attending...

Oh yeah and this is just ONE side, there are 3 more vantage points and 2+ bridges to view from too and they all were just as crowded. 70,000+ people is what i heard but who knows.We had our first poker night at the office recently. It was a real star studded affair with Kai showing up doing his best impression of the Cincinnati Kid. I would like to take the time to point out the bold use of the unicorn necklace...



But clearly it worked for him since he was the big winner, taking all our hard earned money...



But at least I got a good hand in. Jason will have nightmares about this one for a while. We'll be seeing ya.

On a side note we checked out the new H&M that opened at southcenter.... Being a big fan of disposable fashion I was pretty excited, however I highly recommend waiting for the down town one to open, South Center mall was the most horrible place evvvverrrrr.

Ever since I watched the first season of Mad Men it's made me want to
a) wear a suit to work everyday
b) smoke and drink in the office at all hours
c) start talking like an ad jerk and really "selling" your idea.

Anyway, the Art Direction in the series is hands down amazing attention to detail, the furniture and aesthetic feels nostalgic but not overly "retro cheesy", the woods in combination with soft color combos are inspiring.

Here's a good article on the style of Mad Men.... damn I wish I could pull this off.

Second is that we've finally finished Ralee's business card.

The first round was a bit too new school. We had to reverse and instead delved into iconic items that stylists often refer to. The client's personality was also a lot more vintage so to finalize the art direction we ended up hybridizing new school illustration and vintage pattern/borders... viola :)

Back in high school I always took some sort of art class. Throughout the majority of my schooling I always had Jasper Wong in classes with me. He was the kind of peer that was a constant source of inspiration and was a true artist.

This is pretty much about when i thought "maybe its time to sell this thing".
Last night we hosted our first semi-official Ping Pong Grand Prix at the office. While the bracket system was 100% out of whack, the enthusiasm was at an all time high.

Lost is completely driving me crazy... when I'm completely lost I go to their "lost theories" message board on their site. Often times people have ridiculous theories but here and there you get some points that make a lot of sense and give you a deeper appreciation for the show.

One of those "deeper" theories that have helped me was reading this blog on "mirror matter"... It's a long and conceptual read but so far it's been pretty close to a lot of happenings.

Today we finally decided (thanks to the new season of Flying Coffin cluttering our office) that its time to pass the beloved office couch on. I'm pretty bummed out about it. I loved that couch...
BJ Penn Defended the LightWeight Belt against Sean "too much gym, not enough jitsu" sherk.
While doing some much needed spring cleaning this weekend I cherry-picked a few records out to sell off. It ended up being about 7 crates (about 500+ records) so i lugged 'em up to the local record spot and sold em...

Grand total? A whopping $40 payout...

I think I probably spent that much in the gas it took to get there. The word 'regret' comes to mind.
